Dawn of War 4 Beta, Playtests and Demo

Dawn of War IV's Closed Beta runs from October 21 to October 26, 2026, for selected players only, and there is no open beta or demo. Here is who could get in, what the beta includes, the rules testers follow, the earlier alpha tests, and how to hear about the next one.

The Closed Beta is the biggest test before launch: after two small Closed Alphas and a round of Community Playtests, Deep Silver opened it to many more players. It is still invite-only, and you cannot buy your way in. If you just want to play as early as possible, the Commander Edition unlocks on November 30, 2026 and the game launches for everyone on December 3, 2026.

1v1 Skirmish against the AI, for the whole beta
1v1 multiplayer during scheduled sessions; times go to selected players

Only those two 1v1 modes are in this test: no campaign, Last Stand or team games.

Who could join the Closed Beta

Players from earlier Dawn of War IV playtests were already on the testing list and got the next steps by email.
Newsletter subscribers received an application survey by email from October 12.
Everyone else had to sign up for the newsletter and confirm their email address before October 18.
Places were limited, and sending an application did not guarantee a place.

The rules for testers

Selected players may talk about their own Closed Beta experience, within the NDA.
No recording, livestreaming, screenshots or sharing gameplay footage.
No private beta Discord this time: feedback goes through the usual community channels and players' own social media.
Selected players get Customer Support contact details before the beta, and a survey afterwards.

How to hear about the next test

Deep Silver's official FAQ says new testing chances are announced through the Dawn of War IV newsletter (sign-up on dawnofwar4.com) and the official Discord. No further test has been announced after the Closed Beta. Feedback from the testers goes into the last changes before launch, which is also why balance and details on our faction pages may still shift; the Dawn of War 4 platforms page covers which systems the full game comes to.
